Plesk runs on Linux and on Windows Server. The license is bound to your server's IP address, activates without an approval step, and the IP stays under your control.
Plesk is a hosting control panel that brings domains, mailboxes, databases, SSL and site management into one interface. What sets it apart is Windows Server support alongside Linux: customers running IIS, ASP.NET or MSSQL sit in the same panel as your Linux accounts. Its extension catalog layers WordPress tooling, backup and security components on top of the base panel. It fits hosting companies with a mixed fleet, agencies working on the .NET side, and administrators who would rather manage their sites from one screen than over SSH.
A license here is bound to an IP address rather than a key file, which keeps setup short: you run one command on the server, the installer finds the license from the IP, and there is no key to copy or store. The cost comes out of your prepaid balance, so nothing waits for approval between the order and activation — usually under a minute. Changing servers or IPs is something you do yourself in the panel, and the previous address stops working the moment you save. Creating, renewing, suspending and moving are all REST API calls, open on every account tier, so the whole flow can live inside WHMCS or your own billing system. Web Pro raises the domain allowance and adds customer accounts, but no reseller layer. Web Host is the hosting-company edition: unlimited domains plus reseller accounts. Two things are worth checking before you order. First, once you reach the domain limit you cannot add another site, so choose against next year's number rather than today's. Second, if you are going the Windows route, the Windows Server operating system license is a separate matter and is not included here. Monthly licenses run to the end of the period you paid for and auto-renewal can be switched off, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Can I use a Plesk license on Windows Server?
Yes, Plesk supports Windows Server as well as Linux, so IIS, ASP.NET and MSSQL sites are managed from the same panel. Note that the Windows Server operating system license itself is separate and is not included here; you obtain that from your server provider.
What is the difference between Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host?
Domain count and account structure. Web Admin covers your own sites on a limited number of domains, with no customer or reseller accounts. Web Pro allows more domains and lets you create customer accounts, but adds no reseller layer. Web Host is unlimited on domains and adds reseller accounts, which is the edition you need if you sell hosting. Since you cannot add a site once the limit is reached, size it against next year's domain count.
